The mechanisms of powders or granular compaction depend heavily on particle size and shape, and the interaction between particles, which makes it complex to predict and model. Here quantitative in-situ studies of pharmaceutical powders with different particle geometry and size distribution have been carried out using x-ray microtomography and digital volume correlation.
